Roundtable Discussion: A platform with flexible protections (Mastodon Discovery Week 2026)
About
Everyone deserves to feel safe online, but how can the Mastodon platform ensure that one person’s protections don’t equal another person’s censorship?
Topics we’ll explore:
Content warnings & content filters (the end-to-end experience)
Moderation tools & reporting
Server admin settings
End user privacy settings
How to Participate
Please complete this screener if you're interested in participating in the live roundtable. We'll carefully review every submission to select participants, who will be sent an invitation via email. Experience with Mastodon is not a requirement for participation, and we're seeking people from all backgrounds and levels of technical knowledge to weigh in.
If you can't attend the live roundtable, there are other opportunities to participate.
What is Discovery Week?
Organizer

Mastodon is a microblogging social network that places the power in the hands of communities, not big corporations. It's free to use, open-source, and decentralised (operates on many independently-run servers, not concentrated under one company). Your algorithm is yours to control, and your data is not for sale.
