Sunwell Tapes are a female-led group of bookers, facilitators and organisers that have worked to create safe events and a platform from which to keep building gender equity on the city’s live scene, and who share a deep history with River Runs Round, having curated one of the festival's signature "Circle" events in 2023, and who's artists have performed last year at the Estuary. This year, they will be bringing a surprise selection of acts to one of our favourite venues, plugd records.

River Runs Round is an artist led, community focused festival for Cork City, spanning music, the visual arts, theatre, literature and conversation. Our mission is to get art on the stages it deserves, and celebrate Cork’s incredible venues. Highlights of previous editions of the festival include Rita Lynn’s sold-out Mystéé y la loba at St. Peter’s Church, a free program of over 12 artists in Maureen’s, and our signature Circle shows which see songwriters take turns sharing their work.
